Job Description:-

Job Summary:

As a QA Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for debugging NetApp software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for NetApp products. The team also develops, modifies, and executes software test plans; analyzes and writes test standards and procedures; maintains documentation of results; and works closely with development engineers in resolution of problems. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. This position requires and individual who is creative, team-oriented, a quick learner and driven to produce results.

Essential Functions:

- A major part of your responsibility you will be to work as part of a team responsible for:

- Gathering test requirements

- Developing, implementing and executing test plans

- Test reports

- Test summaries

- You will participate in technical communications within the team and with other groups associated with specified projects.

- A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals.

Desired Profile:-

Essential

BE/BTech degree with 3- 4 years experience as an Interoperability Automation engineer with a focus on Linux systems and environments (Redhat, SuSE, OEL).

Prior experience in QA - including test planning, process, and QA methodology

Very good exposure to Perl

Very good Unix fundamentals

Prior experience of storage technology in Linux including:

o Host Clustering with Redhat Clusters/Redhat GFS

o MultiPathing, such as Device Mapper Multipath (and Veritas DMP)

o Working knowledge of FCP and iSCSI SAN, including Fiber Channel switch products such as Brocade, McDATA, or Cisco

Experience with Bash, Sed, Awk and QA Test Automation tools

Excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills

System and storage administration experience with Linux (Redhat, SuSE)

Self-starter, with ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment.

Excellent verbal and written skills for communicating with developers and cross functional teams including QA, marketing and customer support, and system vendors.

Desirable

Experience with Veritas Storage products on Linux (i.e. Veritas Storage Foundation) is a plus

Experience with Oracle is a plus

Experience with SAN environments on Windows or other UNIX platforms (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX) is a big plus

Experience with Linux Virtualization (Core Kernel and Management Stack) is a big plus

Education and Experience Education & Experience:

- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required. 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred.

- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or a Master Degree; or equivalent experience is required.

- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
